Highlighting the flavors of Napa Valley and Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, Girard has gained critical aclaim for excellent wines and great values. The winery is nestled near the top of Pritchard Hill which is arguably the best area in Napa Valley for Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our 2003 Artistry is a proprietary blend of 5 Bordeaux-varietal grapes. The varietals and percentages will change from year to year, with a goal of keeping the wine consistent in quality and style. The 2003 vintage is a bright garnet colored wine with aromas of kirsch, red currant, red plum, lavender and allspice. There are also hints of tobacco, grilled walnuts and campfire smoke. On the palate, this silky-textured wine offers a full-mouth, medium bodied feel. The chewy tannins are very well integrated, making the wine elegant and approachable at an early age. There are multiple layers to this complex blend that reveal themselves through decanting or by giving the wine time to open in the glass. The blend consists of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec and 5% Petite Verdot. 100% Napa Valley fruit coming primarily from Oakville, using a combination of hillside and valley floor vineyards
